i voted for mars...it has the best piece for Holst's planets suite...

as for the greek names, i can't remember what saturn and mercury would be, and i think uranus is the same in greek...but i prefere the roman names...most of them are shorter, and just sound more planety

Mars - Ares
Uranus - Chronos (I might be wrong here)

I think Uranus is Chronos' father (by Geia(sp?)) and Chronos is Zeus' father...Chronos killed his father so as to become king, and then worried that the same might happen killed all of his children by eating them...Zeus' mother killed Chronos, something to do with feeding him rocks so he vomited up his children before he died (?), and then Zeus became king...its all a bit of acomplicated soap opera really...
 
I was doing a bunch of reading on all the planets this summer, and Neptune was by far the coolest! Too bad I never retained any of the knowledge other than that fact though.....
 
Earth = Gaea
Goddess of the earth and mother of Cronus and the Titans

Uranus = Ouranos
God of the heavens.. son and husband of Gaea and father of the Titans

Mercury = Hermes
Messenger and herald of the gods.. god of commerce, cunning, invention and theft

Pluto = Pluton or Hades or Aidoneus
God of the underworld.. brother of Zeus and husband of Persephone

Neptune = Poseidon
God of the sea and earthquakes.. brother of Zeus, Hades and Hera

Mars = Ares
God of war.. son of Zeus and Hera

Venus = Aphrodite
Goddess of love and beauty and daughter of Zeus

Saturn = Cronus
The supreme god until Zeus dethroned him.. son of Ouranos and Gaea

Jupiter = Zeus or Dias
The supreme god of ancient mythology.. son of Rhea and Cronus whom he dethroned and husband and sister of Hera.. brother of Poseidon and Hades.. father of many gods
