favourite concerts ever

Anathema, Athens, April 2004 - two nights in a row... a crowd of 1,500 people singing along to One Last Goodbye and headbanging to A Dying Wish *shivers*

Roger Waters, Berlin, June 2006 - the closest I'll ever get to a Pink Floyd experience, whole performance of "Dark Side Of The Moon" plus Vera, Comfortably Numb and Another Brick In The Wall pt. 2 *dies*

Heathen Crusade, hands down. That was one amazing night.

honorable mentions go to Coheed and Cambria(2006), and King diamond (2005).

Nads, I saw that Morbid Angel/Napalm Death/At the Gates show in 96 too. Damned amazing show. Others for me

Judas Priest 1991
Death/Carcass in 1994
Danzig/Type O Negative/Tool in 1994
Emperor/Borknagar/Witchery/Peccatum in 1999
Iron Maiden- every single fucking time I've seen them
Manowar/Immortal 2002
Suffocation/Crytopsy last year

Thrashfest 2003 - Impaled, Vio-lence, Death Angel, Testament, and Rob fucking Halford in a club holding about 800-1000 people. Beyond fucking awesome, seeing the Metal God in that small a venue. If he does another solo tour to accompany the new album, take the opportunity.

Metal Church/Heathen/Imagika at the Pound SF in 2004. Just three really kickass speed metal bands, all at the top of their game, and I was in the front row.

Overkill, also at the Pound last October. Opening bands sucked, but Overkill was probably the single best live performance I've ever seen from a band.

Exodus/Heathen/shit bands at the Oakland Metro in 2004. Zetro's last North American performance with Exodus. I was dead front and center, drunk off my ass and absolutely loving it. Heathen kicked ass too, as usual.

I don't think I really ever see you people who were at HC1 mention Novembers Doom albums much. Are they just that much better live or what?
They are very good live. That said, JK, Dark One and myself all dig Novembers Doom (to one extant or another). Gugs wasn't an ND fan when the day started, but I think he picked up one of their CDs before the night was done.

I think their last disc was superb. And I'd put "Autumn Reflection" in my list of the Top 50 songs of all-time.
