Pretty original thread huh....

I say 'the Moor', ohh that sexy that dark atmosphere...

Transatlantic - Duel with the devil
Metallica - Battery, Call of the Ktulu, ...and Justice for all
Megadeth - Take no prisoners
Red hot chili peppers - Under the bridge
King Crimson - Elektrik
Opeth - The Apostle in triumph(the part that normally would have been the second part of Requiem)
Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt.1, The Glass Prison, Scarred, Home, The Mirror, Misunderstood
Psychotic Waltz - Ashes
Fates Warning - A pleasant shade of gray
Nirvana - Heart-shaped Box
Porcupine Tree - The start of something beautiful(indeed! lol), Even Less
Machine Head - Imperum
Disillusion - Back to the times of splendor, The sleep of restless hours
Pain of Salvation - Ashes, Morning on earth, Idioglossia
Slayer - Angel of Death, Raining Blood

Dammit I just posted mine in the outro thread.

Anyway 'Through Blood by Thunder' and 'Blood and Iron' also float my boat.

Dimmu - Unorthodox Manifesto. The marching, gunfire and chants of 'hail satan' are cheesy enough, but the "gentlemen.....DESTROY!" just caps it off, and I don't know whether to piss myself laughing or pump my fist in a metal-induce rage.

I know there's at least 20 I really like that I can't think of...
drum intro to Judas Priest - Painkiller is nothing short of classic.
Edge of Sanity - Silent and Twilight are very awesome. I just love that guitar in Silent.
Death - Zombie Ritual's intro is just so damn fitting and metal, it hurts.
I like the opening sax solo in Pink Floyd - Us and Them.
"A New Power is Rising" opening track to Summoning - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame.

arcturus - star crossed
gorguts - inverted

darkthrone - katharian life code ( :worship: )
emperor - alsvartr (as an intro to ye entrancemperium)
bathory - blood fire death
bathory - odens ride over nordland/beginning of a fine day to die
bathory - shores in flames
opeth - to bid you farewell
opeth - moonlapse vertigo
opeth - a fair judgement
cephalic carnage - hybrid
cephalic carnage - scolopendra cingulata/fortuitous oddity as an intro to anthro emesis
cephalic carnage - piecemaker
ulver - bergtatt - ind I fjeldkamrene
ulver - lost in moments

probably lots more - cant think right now

If we're defining an intro as a brief instrumental leading into the main portion of a song, then here's mine (although the third one isn't really a 'song').

Steeler--"Hot On Your Heels" Yngwie's introduction to the world.
Iron Maiden--"Phantom of the Opera". Can hear it in your head right now, huh.
Rush--"2112"
