Fellow smokers, a question for you.

Psh. I never managed to get addicted to tobacco, however I got heavily addicted to Cannabis, which people say is not chemically addictive.
The ritual of smoking seems far more addictive than any chemical properties to me. Not gonna lie, I fucking love the feeling of having a pipe in my hands, I love the act of exhaling a big cloud of smoke that fills my living room.
The smoke itself? Take it or leave it. The act? Fuck yeah man.

Sometimes I think you're completely out of your mind, but sometimes I think you're a genius  I agree 100% with you on this statement, for many things in life even if people don't like to admit, it happens to me with drinking a fucking coke for that matter, and it's the same case with having a beer, it could be taken as far as holding a guitar in your hands just for the act of holding it, even if you're playing a boring ass chromatic scale you're having the time of your life

People say there is a fine line between genius and madness, I prefer to believe that line doesn't exist. ^_^ It's far more fun that way.

I quit 4 months ago ...

I've had a few since then and only when I'm drinking a lot ...but seriously, only a few

I'm richer now and I didn't smoke a lot to begin with. I'm pretty sure my yawns are more satisfying as well

yeah i am planning on quiting very soon, in about 12 grams time by the look of my pouch  gareth is absolutely right, whether it be a pipe, a fatty or a cig its the act, i think after the first few days of quitting and the shit gets out of my body itll be the act that ill miss, and even writing it or saying it to others sounds stupid,

for the last few years ive associated all the things i enjoy with smoking, coffee, movies, even music, i love just hearing a great long song and getting lost in thought with a cig in my hand, but its definatly time to stop while im still young,

hell, shits just got too real with cancer in my family, my mum is acctually going to england tonight knowing that this will be the last time she sees her brother alive, too scary, im not guna do any e-cigs or anything though, i lived 16 years of my life without smoking, and smoked very very heavily for the last four, i know i can kick it, all i need now is an inspirational quote after this post with a YEAH or YOU CAN DO IT BRO and all the pieces will have fallen into place

ok fuck it then you guys are right i rolled one last cig, and threw the rest of the tobaco in the trash, its two in the morning here, so when i wake up tomorw its the first smoke free day, i know i can quit there is no point in putting it off, cus ill keep putting it off, im officially quiting NOW when this last smoke is done, we may need a "quit smoking support thread"

you guys are witnesses, no more cigs, this is a really stressful time of year for me being in college wih test and such , so if can kick it now then there is no reason to start again,

i love this forum

jeff and dan are now my offical quit smoking help therapists :D expect PMs if i feel the need to spark a smoke

best of luck to you m8

thanks dude, i posted it on my facebook where everyone i know can see it so they know i have quit and because they know about it, itll be extra motivation, because i dont want to seem a liar to folks i know personally

I just started playing with a KR808-D1... those are fun too. I generally stick to 510s (I'm using Mega batteries and a PCC at this point) and can't believe that people are blowing over $150 on mall garbage while a 510 starter kit at $30 goes unnoticed. There's just no excuse for some of that...

Jeff

Ya its fucking crazy dude ...lol

I am actually considering re-selling locally I could sell em for $60 and still profit ....lol

Fortunately, the only one I regret is the No 7 Micro. Insufficient smoke at its best, and everything screwed the pooch within days... apart from that dud, it's wonderful.

Stay strong dude. Just throwing it in the trash like that was the best way to go about. In this battle, it's all or nothing.
Don't worry about those patches, or that nicotine gum or any of that bullshit, just save your hard earned money and go head on into cold turkey. I believe it's the best way to do it, because unlike the other methods, you'll be a stronger willed person for it all once you really kick it.

Screw you guys
*Lights a pipe.*

Nah, I kid. All my support to you Niall!

Habit replacement may be more important for you than nicotine. That was my biggest issue - I used it as a way to force myself to take breaks from studies, and now the electronic gizmos take care of that for me.

Jeff

yeah i feel that jeff, id have used it to break up my day, any time i feel the need to busy my hands ill reach for my guitar, or my soldering iron, or this
Way to go Niall! If you feel like smoking, watch porn and fap, it'll distract you

thanks for the words from all you guys, just having my first morning coffee without smoke in i dont know how long haha thanks guys,

Another big thing, if you have habits like a smoke with your coffee and a smoke with your beer... drink good coffee and good beer. If you've been going for cheap coffee (or that instant nonsense) switch to better things and put your saved tobacco money into a proper grinder and a decent brew system; if not, enjoy the extra money and get a little more out of your coffee as your taste comes back. If you feel like something is missing, you'll think twice about that call - if you see something better every day (and a good cup of coffee is a good way to bring that about if you're really into the stuff) you're going to think a lot harder about falling back into old habits.
