Feral children, also known as wild children or wolf children, are children who've grown up with minimal human contact, or even none at all. They may have been raised by animals (often wolves) or somehow survived on their own. In some cases, children are confined and denied normal social interaction with other people.
Imiyati
Believed drowned
Imiyati was found in the autumn of 1983 in a swamp. Although reports vary in their detail, it seems that Imayati was lost in February 1977, perhaps when her younger sister and three other children were drowned while on a fishing trip. Her family had apparently spent months looking for her, but subsequently moved away from the area.
When found, some reports suggest Imiyati looked no older than 10 years old, and could no longer talk, or even laugh or cry.
(My zip code is 92504)Betty Topper of Norco
Betty Topper of Norco, California, USA, was kept chained to a bress bed by her mother Cindi Sue Topper (39), and her grandfather Loren Bess (76), at 1531 Elm Drive (see picture), until she was found at the age of 6.
Betty was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Centre. A month later she had gained 10 pounds to weigh 40 pounds, and was becoming more interactive with other people, although she could still not speak.
Betty had been kept in such appalling conditions that the crew who rescued her could not bring themselves to walk through the house. Instead, they extracted her through a window.
If you are interested in making a donation to the girl's trust fund, make your check payable to Trust Account for the Topper Child, and send it to: Social Services Administration Building, attention Alida Marchioni, 4060 County Circle Drive, Riverside, California 92503, USA.
