Yup that video helped me get along with my FG-X way better. 
In my case it's also neck to neck with Ozone 5 Loudness Maximizer. Maybe the FG-X sounds more hardware analog where as the Ozone is more... well also hardware sounding but not as analog maybe. Anyways the differences are very small. FG-X metering is the bomb!
Definitely one of the best mastering solutions.
