Finally an announcement...though not what I wanted to hear

I have been a fan for all 3 singers(damn, I am old) but I can't think of anything positive to add to this conversation.

I personally hope Bush says thanks but no thanks if asked to rejoin. This is utterly rediculous. It is a freakin circus.

I felt bad for the longest time due to all the bad luck record label wise they have had at times but decisions wise, they really just cause one to shake their heads sometimes.:Smug: :erk:

Well, I guess my CDC 2 shirt will be good to wear on apartment cleaning day.:hypno:

And by the way, just because certain people "predicted" that this would happen, that doesn't mean that they actually knew shit. They were most likley just guessing like the rest of us. Their guess just happened to come true.

I didn't predict nor guess, I knew that.

Assuming there's no other contractual obligations, what would be so bad about Anthrax either distributing a new album independently or signing with a smaller label? Sometimes, some of the best music I've heard are on those smaller labels. (Even Metal Blade would be, IMO, a step in the right direction - not that Sanctuary was a bad move.)

To all of those who think that Anthrax made more many and had more fans during the reunion

"The 2005 reunion of the "classic" ANTHRAX lineup of singer Joey Belladonna, guitarists Scott Ian and Dan Spitz, bassist Frank Bello and drummer Charlie Benante was followed by the release of the band's most comprehensive "best of" collection ever issued, the two-CD retrospective "Anthrology: No Hit Wonders (1985-1991)", which shifted just over 2,700 copies in its first week of release back in September 2005. Meanwhile, the group's first video compilation, the DVD "Anthrology: No Hit Wonders (1985-1991) The Videos" (both on Island/UMe), sold less than 950 units in its initial week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Similarly, the band's live CD and DVD packages, "Alive 2 (2005)" (on Sanctuary Records), which document the group's summer 2005 reunion tour, opened with less than 1,100 and 1,700 copies, respectively. "

Now see the opening sales for WCFYA.

"ANTHRAX's most recent studio album, "We've Come for You All" (featuring John Bush on lead vocals), was released in May 2003 through Sanctuary Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast in Europe. The CD shifted just under 10,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week of release to debut at No. 122 on The Billboard 200 chart. "

Isn't amazing, even combined WCFYA sold more than the reunion material.

I didn't predict nor guess, I knew that.

First off, I never mentioned anyone by name.
Second, since you have responded to this, I have asked you in the past if you have any legitimate inside information on the band, and you've never admitted to it, so why should anyone just automatically believe that you KNEW what was happening? Just because someone guesses correctly, that doesn't mean that they actually KNEW anything. It could have been just a good guess. So if it was, congratulations on guessing correctly.:)
Not that any of this really matters anymore anyway, the decision's been made, regardless of what anyone thinks of it.

I am guessing that Charlie didn't want Joey to even contribute anything to writing, so he left in which case good for him.

I also hope John doesn't come back and maintains his respect by putting out a new Saint album.

Yeah but that's comparing apples to ducks. The reunion material was released before. WCFYA was new. Nobody rushes out for a greatest hits cd, especially since there are like 5 or 6 anthrax greates hits cd's already out there.

Everyone check out the default photo on their Myspace page...

JOHN AND JOEY VERA BACK IN, FRANKIE OUT!!! SPECULATION!

I also can't help but laugh at the bulletins they've been sending:

"And you thought the embarassment was over!"
