Finally.

I'm sure you'll enjoy FOE. Got some strong songs and the overall feeling is of pure heaviness. Along with Wolf, Manigance, Masterplan, this band comes as one of the freshest offerings of the last few years IMO.

A double punch of metal...
Force of Evil's Black Empire is easily one of the better records of 2005.
I have yet to pick up a Rock/Metal record that has "floored" me.
It happened twice! With FoE & with the Icarus Witch E.P.!
FoE didn't over do it 12 tracks was sufficient to get their point across & Icarus
Witch's E.P. has me looking forward to the real record...
Other's on the list:

Demons & Wizards
Nevermore's new one
Arch Enemy's new one

those will probably also be in my top ten for 2005...

That Icarus Witch cd just leaves you wanting more doesn't it? God, I love that thing. I always play it late at night when I know I can't stay awake through a whole album (and I look like JD in his new avatar). I did that last night in fact. But it was so fucking sweet to my ears that I went ahead and played it a second time.

I thought I had heard them once before & I looked at this Sabbth tribute cd & there they were...
A true "old school" band. There's so many metal influence that you can pick out from track to track it's unreal! Love it! JD they should offer you "points" on the records sold for dropping their name to the old school crew...

Which Sabbath song did they cover? I ask out of curiousity because I've heard a hundred versions of Alice Cooper cover songs, and Icarus Witch is the only one I know who chose Roses On White Lace. I wonder if they went outside the box on their Sabbath cover too.

I hadn't heard IW, but to pick 'Roses On White Lace' is surely a strange bet for a Coop cover. "Rise Your Fist And Yell" must be among the worst AC albums ever.

I see they covered a song from the Dio era....Falling Off the Edge of the World. One of my personal faves and really suits IW's style for sure.

Hey Wyv, their choice for a Cooper cover was so far out there that I had to look it up to see what album Roses On White Lace came off of.

Y'All should Message them and Harrass the shit out of them till they acknowledge the Great Promo Machine JD! :loco: .... They are a great band though! I cant wait for a Full Length album!

:headbang:
In The Studio

Just a quick post to let everyone know Icarus Witch is about 1/2 way through tracking our full length record. Having been holed up in Klinger's Cave studio, our communication with the outside world has been slowed a bit but we are confident we will soon emerge with a full platter of classic metal to feed the hunger stirred by the EP.

Matthew & I did manage to break away last weekend for the Brave Words 6 Pack Festival in Cleveland, and will also be hitting up the Classic Metal Festival in Chicago this weekend to party with our friends in Goat Horn & Twisted Tower Dire. Then, back to the grind.

We'll soon be posting some new samples on the site here, so stay tuned and thanks for the amazing support!

Actually I like the song, it was the second AC album I bought (still on vinyl), but is not representative of what really the Coop means to rock history.

It's a horrible record, but Chop, Chop, Chop, Freedom & Roses on White Lace have to be the best tracks off that record...
You can clearly hear Kip Winger's background vocals on that record...
And as with the Winger records, no bottom end...:ill:
