firepod-users...worth it`?

hey there, i'm a concinced user of thr RME products, for their high quality converters. currently using the mulriface and fireface.

now i was just looking for a mobile firewire interface with min 8i/o and as cheap as possible but still high quality.

i came across the presonus firepod with 8 pres and read some user comments about it. seems to be a cool unit for a good price......
i know some of you are using it, and i'd like to hear your opinions on it's quality if possible compared to the RME products (multiface, octamic..)

I'd rather go gor a firestudio. It's a hundred bucks more, but I've heard that it's worth it.

It's an awesome little unit, and I love mine, but go for the Firestudio, if only for the ADAT.

I've love to say yes, but having bought one and had the firewire interface on it crap out in less than a week meaning £150 repairs are needed, I can't praise it too much yet

but i just got a YEEEEAAAAHHHH--YIPPPPIIIIEEEAAA!!!! -email telling me that i probably just got a powermac G5 dual and a digidesign 002-rack (and some other great gear) as payment from the college where i used to teach at......so having the digi i think makes the firepod unneeded.
