First Mix Ever posted

This is the first Mix I have ever posted here. I have been a long time reader of this forum though. I'm looking for some constructive criticism etc.

Guitars are a Schector 7 string- TS9 (Baked mod) - 6505 - Orange cab- Sm57 - SCA N72 preamp - RME Fireface UC. they were reamped with a Radial X-amp.

Drums are slate. Played live and tightened with programmed cymbals.

Bass was some Ibanez 5 string with old strings through a Radial JDI and the Ampeg plugin.

Vocals Sm7b through a UA 610

Mastered with Ozone 4.

Guitars sound just a bit boxy and whoofy to my ears. Snare needs to come up, it gets buried in the mix. Vocals could go down.

This is an Updated mix with the some boxy frequency taken from the guitars and the snare up. What do you think?

song sounds badass bro. my ears did get used to it after a minute or so, but my initial reaction was that it was a little on the bright/slightly harsh side? not super harsh or anything but maybe try easing some of the highs off if you're using a master eq...

This is the final mix we went with. To be honest they asked me to have the production sound close to Suicide Silence cause they like that harsh production style. I actually eased off the mastering eqs low pass a bit for the final.

How's the mastering with ozone? You think you could put the version before you mastered it up so I can hear the differance. I've been using plugins in logic to master it which really isn't doin it for me
