OK, with the weather turning into spring/summer there has to be some others here besides me that like to fish.

This is the thread!! :err:

1st time out (in the canal across te street) = 1 bass about 12" ~1lb
2nd time out (canal agin) = 1 crappie 9" or so and a bass so small it should have been called a minnow.
3rd time out (canal) = skunked = 0 anything
Tonight - (after work, after partying at the bar) 1 crappie= 7" but fat...

Tell me your stories, but don't make them fish tales...

Yeah I go fishing, but I don't really like eating fish. I usually give it away, I just like the pursuit.

Normally catch trout, brown or rainbow. Pretty nice fish, so I'm told. Normally catch some fairly big ones, not sure about mass thought. Slightly longer then a foot and meaty is how most of them turn out.

My old man catches American crayfish (they have invaded our water ways and killed native species) which are not bad I hear. He catches about 150 a week, and was making a pretty penny a while back selling the excess, but now that there are millions of these mothers in a single river, not worth so much now.

Fishing is the best and most relaxing thing , I enjoy it a lot and besides what is better than enjoying cold beer listening to nevermore and waiting in a chair to catch fish and after that bbq the fish that you catch

All of those are....:headbang:

I am a strict catch and release man myself. Although if the fishing is really good, I will take a catch home for a fish fry ( well a fish grill, hate fried fish).

I just get loads of reading done sitting in peace and quiet. Take a packed lunch, sit in nature, read a little, catch the odd fish. It's a great way to spend time.

I really have to go fishing again. Last time I went was YEARS ago. got a huge hook through my thumb... went allllll the way through.

Ouch, that sounds bad... But, you are now older and wiser (meaning you wont hook yourself again).

I strongly suggst you try again, it is soothing, relaxing, mind-clearing and many others. All in all it's better than Yoga, Meditating, Tai Chi and anything else in that realm....

Few times I've been reading and feeling very tranquil then some bastard fish decides to go for the hook! Sometimes takes me a second to finish the sentence and reel that sucker in!

Will, many fisheries will let you rent a rod and pay a ticket price based on how many fish you want to take home, or a lower rate if you just want to catch a release.

I once caught a blue lobster! With a gold tooth! Told me the secrets of the ancient crustaceans, he did!

Then I ate it.

Cmon Brooks, I think that should read:

I once went to a red lobster! Was served from a waiter with a gold tooth! Told me the secrets of the food business, he did!

I want to catch a fish and eat it but I don't trust the water quality enough around here to eat anything living in it.

If there is still life in those waters then why not ?You could get super powers

These are the jaws from a little blacktip shark I caught in South Padre Island. It's my best catch. :(
