over 10. My sister used to beat the crap out of me regularly.

As an adult, still more than 10, all with an ex-boyfriend. I never won, obviously. How could I ? Except I came close one time when I broadsided his head with my motorcycle helmet. We both had a serious drug and drinking problem then which was the cause of all our fights.

your boyfriend used to beat you? if thats the case, you brought up a topic that i truly cannot understand at all...

i've seen this before: why would a girl still stick with a boy/man who beats her? how can she still love him?

Hmmm...fights...Once when I was seven I was walking home from school and some older boy threw a grasshopper in my hair. I punched him in the face and knocked him over...umm...I was 16 and I was at a ska show at this small club in my hometown. These goony boys were harassing all of us girls-trying to smash into us when we were just trying to skank and stuff. They were really being assholes so at one point we all charged the boys and started wailing on them...I guess I haven't been in any really serious or dangerous fights, though :)

He didn't beat me, it was pretty mutual. He just always won 'cause he was naturally stronger even though he wasn't much bigger than me.
Why did it go on? Like I said, we were on a variety of drugs and did way too much drinking. We were not stable.

Yeah, I think this is a very complicated issue. I always say I'd fuck off cause I couldn't even love the man any more. But I really don't know cause I haven't been in such a situation. If it's like funny and doesn't hurt (that much :)), then maybe it's just exciting. But I dunno... Has anyone seen the film The Secretary? It's all about the allure of sado-masochism.

ah well that's a well sensible debate this one.
On my side, i tend to see everything black or white, so my first reaction has always been to blame on the weakness on some girls in those situation, but of course, there's many explanations.
To sum up it's all about moral manipulation..the evidences from girls living it i've heard through times were always pointing out how addicted they were to the guys beating them. This drama is as cruel as a human can be; its starting slowly, then a kind of habit takes place until it gets with time harder and harder. The thing is that most of the men doing this beat and then apologize and drown them victim under loads of promises and stuff, and if the girl is in love...then she wants to believe..until it happens again. It's a vicious circle, proper manipulation and moral agression added to the physical one.
Those are about my conclusions. Still it doesn t spare me to think that girls letting themselves being used as a punching ball by a man should definitely run away and react before it gets really serious. But obviously i'm not a judge for those kind of things, as none is anyway.

yes, ive seen the movie...it was quite funny indeed. but this is different, though. im talking about a beating where the female is seriously beaten for some reason by the male.

it still shocks me to see that you cant straight away say that's outrageous (dhatura and lenore)!

think of it this way...two young people who love each other...but there are certain moments where the boy loses his cool and seriously hurts (or beats) the girl...and these people plan a future together. can you imagine a moment where the boy -who is a father now- beats the hell out of his wfie in front of their kids? brrrrr....even the thought of it gives me the goosebumps.

i guess lenore gave the closest answer i was expecting...it's a very sad truth but some females are pretty stupid when they are in love. but the sadder truth is that women prefer men who are slightly brutes over perfect gentlemen.

Some men prefer/men sometimes prefer women who they know aren't good for them too. Hard to say something general about conflicts like this I think.

Well this is obvious. It's not only outrageous, it's not normal and none should forget this. Its not just a drama, it's something really fucked up, and again, definitely not normal. It doesn 't have to happen, period.

a kid sure has not to see this. But well the beating can come after years and years of a cool relationship...anyway when a kid is involved of course this is awful. Most of the girls eventually leave them guy when a kid starts being involved, unfortunately not all of them,eh.

Well dont mix everything eh. the fact that girls let themselves being kicked by them men is not because they're are in love mostly, ooh no. It sometimes ( often ) happens those girls are not in love anymore with them guys when it happens, but still they stay because of the manipulation and the pressure and many many other exterior facts.
It's not a matter of stupidity , it's more a matter of realize things and a load of strenght as well.
As for girls fancying brutal men more than gentlemen...no offense but it sounds like a 2 cent philosophy to me. It happens, such as some girls are into SM or such as some girls are collecting men and stuff, but heeey it doesn t mean all the girls are, be careful of the generalization here.
Ask any girls around, you wont find any prefering a brutal man to a gentleman, i think you're confusing this will that girls have to be with strong-minded persons with a will to be with "brutal" persons.

girls in to SM? hahaha thats not what i meant...

i dont know, lenore, really. this is a very slippery topic as it involves generalisation.
in my previous post, i just couldnt find the adjective to describe that kind of men...the right word, of course, is not "brutal." but it took me a few years and a number of relationships to understand that females have a strange behavior of clinging to the person who treats her a bit carelessly- even though girls insist that males must be really caring and gentle ... damn, this is so hard to describe. never mind.
but i must say this works. this had come quite as a shock to me when i saw that this was actually working.

My own post from the arousal thread. The question was something like what does it for you.

Brilliant hard-ass dudes.
That aren't afraid of taking control. }:

I'm attracted to these 'brutal' types. Unpredictable men. Strange too because I'm very stubborn and strong myself, and independent.
