Focusrite Octopre LE

What about this 8 channel preamp from focusrite? It's cheaper than the Octopre but it has cool features like phantom power and hi-pass filter in every channel.
I found it for 366€...

What do you think?

Same as the Octopre except it doesn't have the compressor/limiter on each channel. Fairly clean and quiet preamp. Nothing spectacular but certainly won't get in your way. I remember there being a blind shootout on here a while back where most people seemed to prefer it to a much more expensive preamp for recording guitars.

Hey man,
I have the Octopre and really like it, haven't used the LE version though. If its by Focusrite's regular standards then I imagine it will be great quality. But, as I said, I haven't had experience with it.

I have the saphire pro 26 which has the same pres and they're nice, not much headroom but nice non the less

They are actually different pres. Saffire pres are "green series based," while Octopre pres are "Platinum series based" iirc

haven't tried them myself but a friend of mine has them and he says they are really transparent and clear sounding

I thought the Onyx was only $1-$200 more, in which case I would still consider it in the same "price range"

Yes the onix 400 is 600€ but it has only 4 preamps :\ I hate fucking money
