Great vocals indeed...the rest is a bit too basic for me. I'm a huge fan of October Tide though.
Concerning the sound, I wouldn't dare saying anything as it is as bad as my recordings.
I think you'll write better stuff with time, it is a good start !

Not bad. The vocals are awesome. What did you record it on???

my computer. plugged everything directly into the mic jack... guitars, bass, everything. Used cool edit pro to record and arrange, and didn't master anything. Although I did use chamber reverb and followed the midtones on my vox... and echoed the shit out of my lead guitar... but that's it.

It's the difference between my shitty song quality, and oh, say, anything that Katatonia has released.
