Peter Criss Solo Record...say something good about it.

Guess there aren't too many Kiss fans here.
I was a big fan when I was a kid...they were my first hard rock group...I had all their albums up to Double Platinum...no solo records, though.

Anyway...I'll answer the few I can:
member...Ace, I guess...not really into any one of them.
album...self titled
song...Strutter

Gene
Alive II ~ The first one I snagged from my older sis
4 times ~ only once without the makeup and I bought the WASP t-shirt
Animalize
Detroit Rock City
Chris Solo sounds like Grateful Dead with Brent + horns that is big props from me
My favorite solo album was Ace's ~ New York Groove... gotta love disco KISS

1. I think they are all members. Literally.

2. I have never, and never will, shell out good money on a Kiss album. And if I were given one, I would treat it as an act of War.

3. Twice, God help me. The first was, ooh, late 80's I guess, a friend was on his way to the gig with a spare ticket going begging. Hey, how bad can they be, they are a heavy rock band, I'll go with an open mind, and anyway, it's free.......... they were absolutely shite. All I can remember about the show was that they had no make-up, Paul Stanley was playing a little gay Steinberger stick guitar, and they did more posing and poncing about than actually playing. Oh, and there was a geezer on the rear block of seats who was going mental, obviously loooooooved them. His "Kiss-mania" was so hilarious, I spent more time watching him than the band.

The second time I had the misfortune of seeing this band was at Donington some years later, and was sooooooo much worse! This was when they had got all their make-up back on and Ace Frehley was "playing" the guitar. To be quite honest, I had forgotten I had seen them before, and was actually quite looking forward to this band, so often cited as an influence to my heroes. They had promised it would be a spectacular show, blah blah.
It was, to be frank, embarassingly bad. I have done more spectacular wet farts. Ace Frehley obviously can't actually play the guitar, his "solo" proved that, it was just what seemed like hours of noise and probably the best impression of Nigel Tufnell's Spinal Tap guitar solo I have ever seen. How long can one man just stand there playing a badly hammered triplet at pitifully slow speed? Just until his guitar shot a rocket, or blew up or something. I had my head in my hands by that point.
Appalling!! I watched for a while, determined to see try and see the attraction of this band, to see what the appeal was. Alas, no, they ground me down with their extra-cock-cheese antics, so much that I heaved a bottle of my piss towards the stage and left. With the droves of other people heading for the exit. I don't know whether anyone was left there by the time they finished.......
I think it is fair to say that their place in rock history is only deserved from their image and marketing way back in the 70's, simply because they were the first. Indeed, if I had paid attention, my heroes, in their interviews, had said that they were only nippers when they first saw Kiss, and they were instantly hooked by the costumes and the razzle, not that they heard them on the radio and became instant fans. Musically, they are a joke.

Oh, and before I go, someone smack that sausage-lipped twat Gene Simmons in the mouth and rip his wig off. Now that, I would pay good money to see.

Mind you, they have made pots more cash than I will ever make, so who's laughing now..........???
:ill:
