For the Death Metal Maniacs !!

Just turn up the gain all the way, along with the volume, treble, and bass, then cut the mids. Or, a shitty amp and a cheap distortion pedal will get you that dirty "wolverine blues" tone.

Wrong.

What you need is a Marshall JCM 800 and a Boss Heavy Metal pedal (NOT the Metal Zone). Crank the volume and gain on the Marshall, then boast the gain with the pedal until you get that "Sunlight Studio" sound. You can probably find one of those pedals on ebay.

Dont say its wrong, its just a direction different from the one you would go. I can get the dingiest buzzsaw tone ever from my carvin 2x12 combo amp. You havent heard me play so you would know.

I dont use Dist Pedals anymore since I have a killer sounding amp. So now they are useless to me.

I was saying wrong because if you would actually research the topic you would find out that the way I described is what the old school swedish bands did to get that sound. He was asking specifically for that "Entombed" sound and I told him how they created it.

I once read an interview in which an Entombed member said that they turned everything up all the way on a Boss Metal Pedal to get their sound. This was a loooong time ago, when Clandestine was the most recent Entombed album. I guess I'm showing my age here. haha

if youre going for entombed tone, please kill yourself. my guitarist wants to immitate the sound on bloodbath's ressurection through carnage because he says it reminds him of entombed, and i wann slap the crap out of him. why would you want indiscernable tone?!

I use to get the tone/sound with a Peavy bandit 100 watt combo amp with one of those orange Boss DS-1 distortion pedals. I remember hearing Entombed used an older Peavy bandit when recording 'left hand path'. My peavy was newer though.

Now I use an Ampeg VH-140c head, a crate blue voodoo 4x12 cab.

Bloodbath has some of the best tone EVER in death metal.

It's one of the most discernable tones in Death Metal.

People who say the Sunlight Studios sound is anything but immaculate are kidding themselves. It's one of the best and most discernable production sounds ever.
