If you haven't heard yet, the new drum instruction dvd from Rush's Neil Peart, "Anatomy Of A Drum Solo" is out and it is definitely worth the price of admission. Being that it's released by Hudson Music, it does have a rather steep cost. However, if you're a drummer or a Neil fan, or like myself, both, pick this up!

On top of him explaining and demostrating every part of his drum solo, there is bonus material of him warming up, soloing from tours past, etc. There is also a bonus disc of his drum tech and producer explaining their jobs of bringing Neil's skill to life.

This does bring me to an important question. In case any Enchant bandmates might read this, have there ever been or are there maybe any plans for any of the players in the Enchant band to release any instructual type material?

Being that Ed is a great bass player (with madd technical skillz) and gave me a tip on tapping, I'd say that would be very appropriate for Ed to do an instructional bass video! Good call Purplica! I'd buy a copy of that DVD!

Thanks for even bringing this up. I think its two seperate posts though because Neil belongs in another catagory like ten million leagues above the average man. I will have to see this one.

I always thought this would be really cool to do. And a lot of fun, Kev my favorite all time is the Jaco one, you get humor as well there. On the other hand there are probably some really bad ones so hell ya why not right :) hmmmmmm.

My god this isn't this kind of honor for another level? for those amazing players we idolize as well.

Maybe its another thread I need to post but I am doing a few slap and tap clinics upcoming locally at this very cool new place http://www.redhouselive.com/

for a very cool friend and fellow bassman, the fretless master Kennan Shaw of Bay Area Fame :) http://www.kennanshaw.com/. Who actually teaches and hosts jams there. More on that soon when I have the date maybe. I think they actually flim the clinics so I might be able to swing something. I think Doug may have some clinics for Fernandes Guitars upcoming as well, maybe we should do one togather that would rock. He should do one on how to write a great song actually and production.

Again thanks and wow for even bringing this up folks. Patricia you are incredibly sweet! and rock! Thanks.

I have that Jaco one as well on VHS! I had to do some searching around at the time (mid 90s), to find that in a music store! Now it's easy to get the DVD online.

Let me know if you do an instructional bass video. I'd definitely buy one and tell others about it too.
