There will be a $5 cover at the door. I'm doing this for two reasons:

1. Pay the karoke guy (main reason).
2. Keep the riff-raff to a minimum from the show going on in Center Stage that same night. Otherwise, it would be packed once that show is over.

Door at 6pm so folks can eat in peace in Vinyl's before the music starts.

Sounds reasonable $5.00 cover you can't beat that. Now if i can just get my flight changed and my hotel changed, then i am so there.

$5 is certainly resonable. Some of the shore bars here charge $15 for just a dj.

What do you mean by set listing, AR? Wouldn't it be the usual karoke where people pick from a big book? Or are you asking if they'll just have metal?

I meant to say that hopefully they'll have more than the usual pop-rock songs found in most karaokes... lol

Understood. In Helsinki they have this bar, The Corner Bar, that just has metal karaoke. It's pretty cool, though after several hours of hearing little girls (drinking age is 18) doing death vocals it starts to get old. lol

I think I have to find this bar. :)

It's right here!:kickass:
(They just remodeled it and renamed it Heavy Corner)
Let me know when you're going. I'll join you.

And here's the karaoke company, Hevikaraoke
We should hire them. How much could it cost to fly over a dude with a sound system?

Even if the DJ doesn't have a lot of metal, if you brought your own, wouldn't the DJ play it when you are on stage?

Also, is there going to be music playing before the actual karaoke starts? I hope not... that was sort of annoying last year... people were hanging around trying to talk, and had to yell over the music playing on the PA, that they weren't even interested in...

Aki and I went to Heavy Corner, and it was a bunch of fun (1€ Beer Night!). I was going to do a song, but the only thing I knew was Sonata Arctica and Nightwish, and someone had just done the SA song I was going to do, and there's no way I was going to do a NW song. :P

I think $5 is a good price, will be a lot of fun for sure.

Drew we did go to Heavy Corner but they didn't have the metal karaoke on there then. The place you mean was actually called Hevimesta.

They have a few heavy karaoke DVDs out here but I assume it wouldn't really help if I brought couple over because they're in PAL format as far as I know and I doubt the venue karaoke guy could play those on his/her system. The ones out here include stuff like Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Sentenced, Tarot, Stratovarius, Kotipelto, Amorphis etc.
