I honestly would rather see this lineup than Big 4 anyways...

I like this lineup a lot. With the exception of Trivium I really like the main stage bands. Plus I like Unearth and Suicide Silence on the second stages. Another 12hr day standing in the 110 degree AZ sun! Woohoo!

Not I. I think that's one super, duper crappy lineup there. It seems Mayhem's lineups keep getting worse and worse. I'm surprised Megadeth would go with being that low in terms of the headliners, especially THOSE headliners.

Why would you say that? Disturbed and Godsmack consistenly sell more albums and draw bigger crowds than Megadeth does.

I know that. I understand billing-wise why they do it due to them being more popular, but why Megadeth would want to take part in it doesn't make much sense to me. Being below Slayer and Metallica is one thing, but behind those two? I personally would've preferred Megadeth putting together another Gigantour. Those always seem to have pretty solid lineups.

I'm sure the almighty dollar has something to do with why they would do this tour. Plus having a younger audience who may not be as familiar with them can only help them in the long run.

I am not a big Megadeth fan these days so this has no impact on me.
I just chuckle a bit because I remember when MegaDave started GIGANTOUR, he would say his goal was to be what Ozzfest wasn't, and truly showcase more deserving underground bands (Like Nevermore, Symphony X, etc.)

So for Megadeth to be a part of this lineup is kind of laughable.

With all the BIG 4 hype as well, I am surprised they would bother with something like this. I mean that's about as unoriginal of a US touring festival package lineup as you can possibly get.

Disturbed
Megadeth
In Flames
Machine Head
Trivium

All of these bands put a friggin' fun live show.

To potentially turn younger kids (Disturbed/Godsmack fans) into Megadeth fans? To play to a young, energized crowd and not 2,500 greying 40-somethings?

Again, I'm understanding of the reasoning. It just surprises me at this point in the game. Then again, Dave always has been desperate for attention and moolah.

I like Megadeth, Machine Head and Trivium. Disturbed I hate with a passion. I saw them once and while maybe they put on a decent show for what they are, I still can't get past most of their songs sounding exactly the same. I like old In Flames, but I can't get past the new material. I haven't seen them live, but I'm guessing that despite their energy and solid playing, they'd probably be playing a lot of recent material and it's really hard to look past that and enjoy their performance for me personally.

Though I am not a fan, I have seen MACHINE HEAD live a couple times and fully admit they are a solid live band. Eh, maybe I am just cutting Robb Flynn some slack since I am a big VIO-LENCE fan :)
