Forbidden's demos

Vicious Robbie

Faithful Neon Dreamer
I got a hold the other day of the Trapped demo from 1991 that contained three songs that never made it onto the Distortion album. Trapped is an ok song and My Sorrow is my own is just forgettable. The ballad So Dark(On this side) it really has no place on a Forbidden album but it has a great melancholic melody and Russ blows me away on this one. I never knew he had that much range!! Has anyone heard the other demo, Dissillusions? How is it? Any info would be appreciated :saint:

Only the title track on Disillusions is new, but I like it a lot. Same general stuff as Trapped though, so it probably won't amaze you.

This reminds me of some early Solitude Aeturnus. Also, people argue about how Dreaming Neon Black was mostly written before Tim Calvert joined Nevermore, but you can hear how much he, or at least Nevermore touring with Forbidden influenced Dreaming Neon Black.

I love So Dark... the other demos are worth a listen but as HamburgerBoy says most are already on albums... I like the verson of Hypnotized By The Rhythm. There are a couple of earlier demos out there which are worth tracking down with Forbidden Evil with slightly different lyrics and a couple of early songs that never made it to record...

By the way what do you think of the new Forbidden songs up on their myspace? I like a lot :)

I have to tell you, I liked Adapt or Die from the get go and it gave me a lot of hope for their next album. Hopenosis just blew me away completely!! It's classic Forbidden, more in the vein of the TIF album and Russ just rules on that one. Wonderful songwriting skills as the clear guitar interludes just add more drama and punch to an already epic track for me. Forbidden 2010...I can't freaking wait!!!:headbang::kickass:

You gave us hopenosis, ill lucid psychosis!!:OMG:
