Just finishing up mixing a record for a punk-jazz-prog-art-whatever band. Pretty weird stuff. :zombie::hypno:
Also mixing a 4 song EP for Ruinside.

After these are done, I'm concentrating on renovating/building the control room and on my band's upcoming record.

Tracking our new singer on our new 3-song soon. I'm mixing while waiting for him to be ready. After that, Shredmaster James Murphy is handling the Mastering duties.

Also finishing the new studio soon.

doing Lucy's Doll (Australia) right now, just finished ...(USA, don't wanna name the band now), 2nd Sight (Hamburg), 3ecksperiment (Germany), Longed For Fusion (Germany), Incubator (Germany), Alestorm (Scotland), Forced Evolution (Belgium)...

that's primarily it for this year....some small audiobooks, karaoke, mastering/mixing-jobs as well.

Nothing too exciting, but I have been gearing up for a 6 month run at my first demo. I've just come out of Uni and I've given myself until Christmas to learn (and implement) as much as I can about mixing (I'll be Mastering this demo too) beyond the stuff I have learned in the last year or so. Just been getting my gear sorted out, some may have noticed my computer thread; just bought a quad-core and I recently also picked up some HS80M's. I'll be getting a press pack together and I have a couple of friends who will take some promo shots and create artwork/logos/help with webpage etc. Its all got a bit expensive though! After some acoustic treatment and maybe a new MIDI keyboard I'll tighten the wallet, haha.

I'm going for an Agalloch/ The Fall of Every Season type sound, but hopefully with a really big, thick mix.

It'll take a while as my vocals still need a lot of work, especially getting the harmonies down plus the growls need serious practise.

Oh, schaffste es zwischendurch evtl. noch Gitarren für 2-3 Songs für mich zu reampen? Irgendwann zwischen August und September? :)

Trying to finish the tracking (vox) for my own band Shadowdance so we can finally be done with our new disc, also remixing our 1st cd which will also require re-recording some lead vocals... but thats my stuff

outside of that, 5 song EP from a new band called Archaic (co production/engineering and mix) and soon 4 songs from an Atlanta based hard rock / metal band called Smash Machine (mix)

a bunch of unkwnown bands, a lot of stuff to mix, and maybe teaching some classes at the end of the year. Nothing exciting (yet).

Dude, when you do nothing but metal for pretty much every project it's an EXTREMELY NICE breath of fresh air when you get to do another style of music. I recently recorded a 4-song demo for a local band that does rock/southern rock but has hardcore style vocals. The music is really cool, and definitely a nice "change of scenery", I just don't dig the vocals. The guitarist and drummer were a great pleasure to work with because it was the first time in a lllllong time that I got to use nothing but mics on a drumset instead of the typical "uh, hey dude can we put triggers on everything?" bullshit. And it was nice to track a band that isn't caught up in themselves and think they are the next big thing just because they do blasts at 400000bpm. Not to mention it turned out to be my favorite drum recording I've ever done.

That and when it's your only source of income, beggars can't be choosers :)

Anyway...it's just nice to be able to change it up every once in a while. All the projects I work on can be heard on my MySpace.
