FRAMUS FR 412 Dragon AN

Wow, it is cheap. I don't know the Framus, but I have a Thermion cab, also cheap, and it sounds great to me.

Shit! Skal få han kompisen min til å kjøpe et! Faen så billig! Litt kjipt å ha svidd av 13000kr på Mesa kabinettet mitt! :) men egentlig ikke!

Yeah, the Framus is still good, especially for the price. I've played a Kelly cab with V30's in it, which was also cheap (more so than the Framus, I think it's a local Australian brand, but I'm not 100% on it). I didn't like the Kelly cab much.
I'd say the Framus sounds neither cheap, nor overly expensive in it's character.

Anyway, I bought a randall. Needed something I could rely on 100%.

But I heard mostly good things. I think it's cheap because Framus is german. So thomann and other on-line music stores can have it super cheap.

Ive only heard good things besides a few pointers about the crappy casters and jack plate, that may have been sorted via a metal one these days...ive just ordered one myself, ill try it out + record it, let you know what I think.

I will add a +1 to the "crappy casters". I don't know if they've been changed, mine are metal, yet the part of the caster which sits in the cab and holds the wheel on has fallen off two of the asemblies. The first time it happened I went back to the shop and they replaced it with a caster from another cab, the second time I gave it to a friend to weld back together. I don't know if this happens to the cabs when you don't take the casters off regularly, but I was taking them off about twice a month and it happened twice in about 9 months.

Yeah that was pretty annoying when we were loading it into and out of your car.

Some guys in a local music shop here are adamant that the Framus Cobra cab is superior to the Dragon. I've yet to hear it for myself, but I believe that one is loaded with greenbacks, and not V30s.

The Dragon cab sounds very vintage to me, in contrast with other cabs. It sounds like its been modeled on that old Marshall sound, and it's very pronounced in the low mids. Worked quite well with a 6505 however... from memory I greatly prefer the Mesa Traditional cab.

That Harley Benton G412A Vintage cab is just unbelievable cheap! And if the sound is the same and the build quality is higher than the Framus one, then its no doubt!

as i said before, theres probably not one v30 in it.
i bought one of these two years ago and even the
guy in the shop made an awkward face as i said
"gimme one of those framuses with v30s" cause he played
it, didn't know the specs and found it sounding more like
a 25. so i showed him there catalogue and we opened up
the cab - e voila, some generic custom made celestions.
he even called his friend at framus and he said its a mistake.
but what do i know, the specs had not changed for years
so maybe framus actually builds these with v30s now.
but then it was a total fake. so beware!
framus amps rule btw haha.
