Hey guys,

Since I have some free days this coming week (in between hammering Starcraft 2) I thought to give something back to the board. Rather than scouring the 'mix my song' threads to take part in competitions where the work gets lost, I thought I'd offer one of you the opportunity to get a professional mix job on one of your songs. If you are familiar with my work, you will already know whether this is an attractive prospect to you or not. If you aren't, then hit up the homepage, and roll some clips: http://www.myspace.com/systematicaudio

Now, there are a few small criteria for selection, and will determine which 'entry' will be the one that gets the spot. They are as follows:

- Only one song will get the spot.

- Songs that have been tracked well, using real drums, ideally pre-reamped guitars & fully edited. If the song/performances are really, really good I will consider MIDI/sequenced drums, and guitar DIs. But please bear in mind that reamping is not a mix process.

- 24 bit/44kHz.

- You credit me for the mix wherever applicable.

- You have ambitions to promote this song as part of your act (ie. not going to sit on the mix for years).

- You provide a quick rough mix/clip for me to hear ahead of downloading the full array of multitracks.

Feel free to either put your 'submissions' in this thread (the rough mix clip) or send them to me directly via PM if you'd prefer more privacy.

Cheers!
Ermin.

PS. You're allowed to use the final mix in the same shape or form that you would a paid product, provided you credit me wherever applicable.

...and i'm sitting here still waiting for new drum tracks to come

seriously, great offer! :headbang:

This sounds great, I might even take you on this offer cause I got a song recorded like 9 months ago (real guitars, real drums, etc.) and the studio guy got fuking lazy and we ended up asking for the session cause he would take forever to give mixes. Still waiting on the session files, but I can give you a rough mix (his rough mix) so you can have an idea. Guitars were doubletracked with 2 (or 3? can't remember) mics each.

Should I Pm you the link or something?

Absolutely, just PM it over.

I should mention that I'm sick at the moment... not sure if it's a fever yet. So it may take me a few days to get started, even after getting the tracks. Want to make sure my hearing isn't messed up or anything.

Thanks guys.

Want to do some of our album tracks? lol~ Great idea though! Please use Rick as an example man, then maybe he will consider using you for the album! :p

Haha. I appreciate that, but you know me, I want the best for each product haha. And least be honest, I'm not a tenth of the engineer you are lol. If people don't abuse this offer, then you are retard *in borat voice*

Are you looking for a metal song specifically? I have a rock-ish song that I've been working on for a while, definitely a mainstream type of song, but it still has a couple cool riffs and a solo.

No, definitely not metal only. By all means send a clip through, even if it's rock.

Just an update: it seems to be the damn flu. Feel like I got run over by a bus. Hopefully it wont take any longer than a week to get over... grrr. I'm keen to get this done for one of you dudes, whoever it may be.

I already sent you this in a PM (as you know, lol) but I'll post it here too as my "official" entry... the more I think about it, the more I'd be reallllyy interested to hear what you would do with it.

I co-wrote, produced, tracked, mixed, and mastered this-

Hey guys, just to let you know that I'll keep this open to submissions for one more day, after which I'll let everyone know which track I"ll roll with.

Thanks a lot for all the submissions so far. You guys have some quality tracks and it's been a privilege to listen to them.

Yeah Sam, Raziel is the man. He does good work.

So here, a whole month and a half later I finally have the product that's come out of all this. It's been posted on the 'Rate my mix' board, but I figured it's somewhat relevant in the original thread too.
