Fried Okra

I just love it plain, but fried extra crispy.

Even better, fresh, and on pizza, along with bbq sauce and pulled pork!

I remember trying it pickled/wrapped in bacon...the brine made it taste too much like peperoncinis.
I think I've had it pan fried with crookneck squash, zucchini and eggplant...it was nummy

btw.... Have you ever tried Bamia? It's a beef/okra stew, and is almost a family tradition at my house in the winter time.
EXTREMELY good! My mom often makes the vegetarian version during the summer time, but both are excellent.
You should try it, Mr. Chef :)

Derick made some okra paneer a while back. I don't much care for Indian food, but it still looked pretty darn good!

^ They do have Okra in warmer parts of Europe though... Spain, Italy, Greece, Israel, Portugal.. I wonder if the cold weather has anything to do with the import of Okra to the rest of Europe?
OR is it because they just wouldn't understand or appreciate the greatness of this yummy thing!
