everyone is raving about BKP and how good they are....well I have to say their service really is one of the best ones I've every experienced (Tim is a really nice guy also), and I can't say anything about their other products....but the Painkiller is supposed to be their tightest pickups...biting, tight, perfect for low tunings..their take on the 81 thing...

well...I think it blows.

Any interest in an older EMG 85 that doesn't have the quick connect? It has about 16inches worth of lead on the wires, though... more than plenty.

You should check if it's not defective, I had a SD Distortion one time and it sounded the same way you are describing. I check the DC resistance and it wasn't right. It turned out the pickup was shorted inside and therefore defective.

Haha yeah not the best sales pitch but it's honest. I listened to the DIs Lasse made and decided i liked it, the 81 kicks its ass for high speed modern riffage but that's not what i'm getting it for
