Hey, I've been lurking around here for probably a year, but for some reason I never had authority to post any threads or replies till now!
Anyway, I've been a fan of Andys work since Stuck Mojo Rising came out and this forum RULES! I've snagged a bunch of valuable tips and ideas...
I just finished recording, mixing, mastering our album called DECONSTRUCT - The Human Condition
I've been producing all my own shit for the last 4 years since my old band got a deal with Columbia, spent about $25K doing demos all over the place, only to have the label say they liked my production the best (of course that was right before the A&R staff that was working us got fired).........
I'm recording old school as fuck G4 533mhz Digi 001 ProTools 5.whatever.
Not shit for outboard gear - 2 DBX 160 comps, 2 Vintech 1272 pres and a RME ADI8 AD/DA converter..... so I use plugs for EVERYTHING
Soundreplacer, Bomb Factory 1176s, Fairchild 670 are indispensible....but I've got every plug you can get (for PT 5 - hence I cant upgrade)
I'm mixing back through a Mackie 32X8 which blows, but you gotta do what you gotta do...... This record I mastered myself, using Finalizer and L2 waves limiter plugin.... Andy inspired me to go for that shit...
