Well ifrst off id like to say that I was waiting in anticipation for the Opeth gig last night for months. I didnt get there.

My day started out shit, and continued snowballing until I got home into bed.

I had to catch the coach from Canterbury first. Coach was scheduled to leave Canterbury at 3:50, I thought was plenty of time to get into London. I left Canterbury at 4:30. I was a bit pissed off by that, but not too much.
Journey was going ok until we got to Elephant and Castle, where I was told there were student demonstrations at hand. After moving through half of London at a measly pace of about 5 m/ph, I got off the caosch at Elephant and Castle to try and find the tube station, bearing in mind that ive never been to London by myself before, and the bus destination was Victoria Stration, and Ive only been in this country for 6 months, and ive been to London once with my dad.

I found the station at last, the time now being 8:30. Gig started at 7. I was now a bit more pissed.

I got to Charing X station at last, time now 9. I walked out of the statiion, realising that there were about 5 different exits, and I had no idea which one to go out. I asked about 15 people if they knew how to get to the Mean Fiddler, one person DID know, and they were wrong directions. Well, by this time I was FUCKED off, and realised that I was now having to try find my way back to Victoria coach station because I probably would have missed Opeth by now.

Got to Victoria staion and they said all the coaches back to Canterbury had been cancelled, so I had to either catch the train from Victoria TRAIN station or wait until 12 ish to see IF there was a coach turned up.

Luckily, a coach turned up at 10:30, and I got on it and went home.

Great day it was for me.

At least they are back in March though... it would've been much worse if they weren't coming back for years.

Yeah I spose. I didnt know they were coming back in March, I knew it was next year sometime though.

Its the fact that I made a whole pointless journey into london. I could of stayed home and got sex if I knew I would have got lost

Sorry to hear you missed it. That kind of thing has happened to me elsewhere and its a pain to spend so much time travelling only to miss the gig at the end. Folks in London are crap for giving directions - mainly as most of them work there but dont live there.

Getting the bus is a bad option unless you have lots of time, but I guessed you've learnt that the hard way. Trains aren't great but are generally more reliable and allow you to get home much later - the gig didn't finish till 10:30 for a start.

I could ask some more questions but it aint gonna make you feel any better - at least next march you'll be better prepared, I guess.

Yeah I spose ive learnt now. Problem was I think the last train to leave to Canterbury is always at 10. So I would have missed that one anyway.

I dont mind man, ask away!! :err:

Im getting the fucking directions tattooed on me arm next time theyre here

What gig you get lost at man??
