I hate everything about it.. It's less convenient, looks cheap as fuck and this stupid thing keeps popping up, and I don't know how to get rid of it:

That is all.

yeah dude, the new myspace is horrible, they went downhill when tom left and the company went corporal. Facebook took over and the company has been doing everything left and right to copy FB, but have done nothing but failed in the process.

You know a few months ago they announced that they didn't care for social networking, that they are going to be focusing on entertainment. So basically, Myspace is dead.

Yeah... I used to love myspace.. It was a great way for bands to get a hold of me, and vice versa..

Any clue how to get rid of that stupid ass dropdown thing?

looks like they decided that the new dropdown was better, and no as far as I can tell you can't get rid of it, and if you did through CSS, it might be against their terms of services.

I've had a hate/hate relationship with myspace for a long time. I'll be glad to see it vanish.

What kills me the most about MySpace is how fucking resource intensive is. I can load one tab of the site in Google Chrome, and the application's CPU usage will jump from 2% to over 27%; 25% = one entire fucking 2.8ghz core, as I'm on an i7. Fucking mental.

What kills me is that its so shit its crashing when I go in to delete my profile.

yeah that grey box is annoying as fuck,
like two hours ago i wanted to write a pn to my bandmembers about the next rehersal, but i couldn't, because that cool gray box popped up faster than me
then i sent it seperately via im, but appearently it was fucked up too, and some people didn't get it
then i wanted to post it as a status how gay that gray box is, but no dammn, gray box still like 3ms faster than me

it is sad, in the last few days i really developed nostalgic feelings about how great myspace used to be,
i too find it stupid that they removed the possibility to search bands and genres locally

it sucks ass big time.
some "ideas" seem to be nice, and I also like how it looks (not cheap imo) but damn it fucks the CPU as Jeff said.
also I can't figure out how make a paragraph in the new biography section. and the html module doesnt work for me.
once you get used to were is what now it would be nice IF it worked I assume.
I also think that it's quite retarded to have to click on a button to see bandmembers on band sites...since myspace wants to be all about music and what not now.
a pitty, it used to be at cool to present your band, even if the player sucked.

Wow what did they do to it? That looks hideous. I haven't used Myspace for over a year now, and I really don't miss it.

I'm most annoyed by the music player. When I click on a song to listen to it in the myspace player, sometimes it will randomly take you to a new page to listen to the song! That is, unless you click the tiny little play button next to the song title. If there were anything they should have improved about the music player, it's the mp3 bitrate quality. But who cares about the music quality when they can generate more traffic by taking you to a different page to listen to a song that should have played on the page you were just on.

also, nsguitar, are you turning emo?

you're on myspace, facebook, and checking out attack attack at the same time.

Hahah!

Well, I suppose so!

I was on facebook talking to a band member about some important issues, myspace becasue I want to check what bands are next for me, and attack attack, because a former member from the band contacted me.

The only reason I use it any more is because my venue has a page that I run... I was about to lose my mind when I upgraded to the new profile and it erased EVERYTHING that was on the page.

I thought this was funny on alexa: "Average Load Time for Myspace.com
Very Slow (3.152 Seconds), 83% of sites are faster."

Also pretty cool (sarcasm) that the new upgrade complete breaks custom profiles, so any band that paid good money for a custom profile, it's now completely useless and has to be re-designed to work with the new layout (which the new "custom" features are a custom background and a tiny header, woo hoo). I hated doing custom layouts but it was nice to have an extra bit of business once in a while.

It really is impossible to use now, especially in safari... It nearly crashes the browser it makes it run so slow

The only thing that matter(ed) about Myspace is this: When someone visits your band page, they're guaranteed to listen to at least the first ten seconds of your first song. At least, that used to be the case, but now with the horrible layout and processor rape, even that might be too much of a hassle for the average person who doesn't know or particularly care about your band.

2006: "Oh, ok, Myspace. This is a website I am familiar with. I will see what these guys are all about."
2010: "Ew, Myspace."

Whoever is in charge over there fucked up bigtime. I'm thinking of just buying a domain and putting a similar flash-based music player on the front page for a similar effect. Layouts and whatnot aside, the biggest advantage was being able to send someone one link, no matter how much of a music listener or computer user they are, and be relatively assured that they'd check it out. That's largely gone now, and it's a damn shame for us.
