FUCK YES HE DID IT!!!!!

Similar to the Australian Election.

People wanted "change'. Nevermind the fact that most of the people wanting "change" could even list 1, let alone 5 of the candidates policies.

Ahh well. Our new government should be finished soon spending the surplus we had built up over the years. Then we'll get sick of him and the other dudes can get us our surplus again.

Then we repeat that cycle and we are no better off either way. :loco:

Good points. It's funny, because if you think about the percentage of Americans voting for a candidate that aren't even aware of a lot of the issues - people that vote simply based on one's image or promises of "change", then compare that to the way the international community perceives our election, you are left with a very biased and skewed view of our country and citizens.

I think this is part of the problem when listening to international opinion on our election process and the candidates. Yes, there are many informed opinions on this board...and I'm glad. At the same time, many will base their opinions simply on what they read on NBC or the like, and form an opinion based on that. That is the worst, because it creates unwanted and unnecessary stereotypes of Americans.

I personally breathed many a sigh of relief when I found out Obama won when I woke up wednesday morning.

Better NBC than some nutball youtube video or what some dude at work told them or internet misquotes of NBC.

I agree dude; I am definitely not one for conspiracy theories, you-tube mish mash videos and whatnot.

But, I'm referring more to comparing sources, discussing with close friends/family, etc. I usually like to exhaust more than 1 option when talking politics.

You should be critical about anything whatever medium tells you imo, be it nbc/cnn or youtube.
Looking at a something from different aspects/opinions is the most "healthy" way to go imo.
I for one am not basing my opinion on what only nbc has to say.

I totally agree 100% man. Also, I wasn't trying to label the international community as a whole...just a certain percentage of people worldwide. That's why I'm glad I have some international friends. I can get their opinion on matters foreign to me, and the opposite applies.

Sure. My point is that a reliable news outlet is generally a far better source than hearsay or anonymous internet posts.
