Does Windows 7 have any feature that is similar to Time Machine? I know it has a backup feature, but does it allow you to backup the OS completely to a file?

I meant a pre-existing feature/program, not one that I would have to do myself

There is always the consequence of having to buy a new drive when one takes a shit.

The consequences in this situation were not that bad. 2 hours of time (from 2am-4am) and a trip to buy a new hard drive was all this incident cost me. I didn't lose anything. My last backup was at 5 or 6pm and I didn't do or save anything new since that time.
