this is one of those moments where is some steinberg developer were in the room with my, i'd inflict some gbh, and not worry for the consequences.

I never lose more than 5 mins work.

I do this too. We have power issues EVERY SINGLE DAY round here, although now I'm on a laptop, but got the habit from yeaaars of frustrated pc work destroyed by power failures

I have never had Cubase crash to the desktop on me. If I load too many drum samples in Superior and max my ram, it will crash, but the project stays open. It gives me the "a serious error has occured" warning and allows you to save the project under a different name to prevent corruption of the original file. I think each individual's PC has a lot to do with the stability of a DAW.

if im being completely honest, my cracked nuendo is mindbogglingly stable too
which i find very, very odd

Doesn't matter, cubase SL 3 still has bugs. Stienberg didn't seem to give a fuck and released version 4. So I decided I wasn't going to go out of my way to give them any more money any time soon.

That's why you save in versions:

SuperBr00talTrack_v03
SuperBr00talTrack_v04
SuperBr00talTrack_v05_mixprep
SuperBr00talTrack_v06_mixdown_01
SuperBr00talTrack_v06_mixdown_02_voc_up

etc.

Makes things much easier.

Yeah I don't have very many issues at all. Auto-save works perfectly fine. And every time I open a session and go to close it I save it as "projectname-revX-XX" where X-XX are month/day. Haven't had a problem with any corrupted projects yet. YMMV

I've never had a problem with corrupt versions or crashes on my legal versions of Cubase - used to have loads when I was running the H20 SX3 stuff a few years back.

Thank goodness I don't use Cubase. Although, my FL Studio doesn't crash so often, BUT saves corrupt files... Imagine to loose a half-mixed full orchestra-arranged song just because FL sucks at saving...
