YEEEEEEEEEEEES! This is going to RULE. It's still supporting Lionheart as well - unquestionably one of the best trad metal albums of recent years.

This has made my week :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

You like Akercocke, so your opinion on anything, is pretty void.

Saxon are great, go and have fun seeing them =D

You have a gay avatar of a guy trying to look scary like a cheap Glen Benton rip off, so YOUR opinion is ALSO void. So there! :p
I probably would go see them, I imagine they'd be pretty good live and loud. But their songs on record do nothing for me.

Haha, that is Lars Nedland from Solefald, and Borknagar. The sheer fact that he is in those bands, and my avatar as well, renders my opinion incredibly worthy. =D

They are not as good as Manilla Road =P

Never heard any of those bands, so it's a crap avatar IMO. :yuk: Mine is far better and PROVES my allegiance to old school hard rock/metal. SO my opinion on Saxon is more than valid, and I say their shizen!

Your avatar may prove your "allegiance to old school hard rock/metal", but your statement that Saxon are "crap" makes that utterly worthless.

Besides, they have loads of compilations, most of which are a bit touch and go, just get hold of one of their albums, and go to a show you pussy! You'll love them live.

Aye, compilations are always touch and go but even their "best" songs like 747 and Wheels of Steel (is that right?) were on the album I had and they did nothing for me. Biff's vocals were rubbish IMO, I just didn't like his voice much.

to be honest, I don't think the production sound on songs like 747 does them enough justice, it's quite a weak sound and doesn't convey the power of those songs!

I say again, you wouldn't be disappointed live!

You're possibly right. I said something similar in the Kreator thread and, if I had just heard Coma Of Souls for the first time today the weak sound would probably turn me off it. The fact that I heard it when it was first out means I can appreciate it for what it is now. Maybe I'm just too late to ever appreciate Saxon - maybe I'll get a hold of "Lionheart", see how it sounds.

fuck off you peasant.

Stormwatch - yes, check out Lionheart! Check it out NOW!

Taking a bath in a tub of Velveeta won't quite match the cheez content of Lionheart by Saxon.
Why are you writing about that played-out shit anyway? Its kinda sad, really.

I just listened to "Enlgish Man O War" and "To Live By The Sword" - this is some good shit! :)
His vocals are a little like that guy from Overkill but not as high pitched. In fact the whole lot sounds quite like Overkill - I like it, I like it a lot.
