After highly successful Canada and summer festival tour 2011 Kalmah
returns to writing mode. Reaching huge crowds at Metalfests in Austria,
Switzerland and Germany, Vagos in Portugal and Summer Breeze in Germany it
has been proven that Kalmah has lots of loyal fans in Europe and the
demand for Swamp Metal is rising. To highlight one of the summer festival
experiences we have to pick up Metalcamp main stage slot just
before Slayer. If you want snippets from those gigs just search Youtube.
Thank you all and see you soon!

Now it is time to withdraw to writing mode and dig deep into the Finnish
swamp soil. We have already something written but it is hard to tell the
musical direction yet. As always we will trust our inspiration and one of
the important ones is
just started hunting season! We will take all the time needed to end up
with high quality
Swamp metal album. Studio has not been booked yet but most likely we
enter during
next Spring and Autumn to record our seventh full-length album.

Besides the good news we have unfortunately bad ones as well.
After 7 years, 3 successful albums, lots of great memories and
experiences the ways of Marco and the rest of Kalmah lords lead to another
direction. From the Black Waltz to 12 Gauge Marco has left strong
fingerprints on Kalmah´s path. Written songs like Time Takes us All or Godeye just to mention few
will remain in our legacy from which we are proud of.

We thank Marco for everything he has shared with us on stage,
off stage and the latest 3 albums and wish him all the best and
great success in the future.

Marco states:

"What an epic journey this has been, filled with great shows and albums!
I would sincerely like to thank the fans around the world plus the people
involved for the overwhelming support over the past years, you and these
experiences will not be forgotten!
As some paths fade away, existing ones keep on going and be sure, new ones
will emerge so see you on the road!
Last but definitely not the least I´d like to say to swamplords, keep up
raising the bar of swampmetal to the level where it belongs!"

What comes to new keyboard player we have something in mind but the doors
are open. Within next weeks we will share our ideas and take action so
stay alert. In the meantime check our website www.kalmah.com, share your
ideas at or official Facebook profile and check out Youtube for live footage.

Long live Kalmah! Thank you for everything (so far), from your epic albums to your Canadian tours, i am proud to have been your fan from the start and i salivate to the idea of even more new and awesome material.

Marco, good luck with everything and thanks for bringing your characteristic touch to the Swamplords. I wonder where they'll manage to find such a master of the keys like you, but i trust they'll figure it out. Kalmah never disappoints!

I have been a fan of this band since the 3rd album and I continue to be. So find that great keyboard player because he is out there and im looking forward to the next Kalmah Opus.

NOOOO!!! :( Marco you will be missed. I'm really sad to hear you left but good luck with your future endeavors.

Though it's great to hear about Kalmah's success and I'm sure the new album will kick ass like the last six. :)

Good bye Marco! I hope you move on to bigger and better places! Thanks for all the awesome eargasms you gave me :p

As for you Kalmah, ROCK ON! lml

It's too bad that Marco left. He was a great keyboardist, had great stage presence, and was nice. That said, Kalmah composed great music before he was in the band and will continue to do so with him gone. Maybe they're going to get that guy that played with them at the Russian shows? Whoever it is, the essence that is Kalmah will carry on. I can't wait to have the next album in my hands!

After inspiring hunting season Kalmah has found new keyboard player. We welcome Swamplord Veli-Matti Kananen (One Morning Left) on board! Velski has already played session gigs with us in Russia and Switzerland so we knew his skills and most of all his state of mindlessness.

Since the news of the new keyboardist has not been mentioned here, I shall say: Hyvaa! Looking forward to seeing what he brings to the music! :headbang:
And I love the part about mindlessness.

And on that note - since he played with the Swamplords a couple of times, does anybody know videos of gigs in which he played? Needless to say - I'd like to see what he can do ;)

« does anybody know videos of gigs in which he played?»

There is six or seven of them if you simply search on Youtube with "Kalmah Russia"
