Game emulator recommendations?

Does anyone here use game emulators for Windows? I'm looking for Mortal Kombat II as well as Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, but I don't want to risk downloading emulators riddled with viruses or malware from sites I'm not familiar with. Are there any good emulators or sites to find these games that are safe? Thanks!

you mean SNES version? ZNES is the most famous emulator and it's been for a while

coolrom.com is legit. I guess it's worth mentioning since this is a gray area that it's only legal to download these games if you own the originals

There's a site called playsega.com but they make you pay.

I seem to recall a site with free genesis games to play online but I dont have or remember the link for it.

Fusion is the best Sega emulator. Does Master System, Genesis and I think MAME? Some arcade one I can't recall...

ZSNES is still a good one for SNES.

I like Gens more because it has the kickass rewind feature (you hold a button and the game rewinds). Perfect to beat impossible games, specially the 8 bit ones. Nestopia also has this function.

I used to use visual boy advance for gameboy advance ones. I also had a PS1 emulator that i played Final Fantasy 9 on all the time. I will see if i can find it. I was never sure on the legality of them. I do own both a PS1 and Final Fantasy 9, its just that the game is scratched to all hell and the PS1 doesn't read games anymore lol

I play atari games on a emulator ........ someone is loosing money if i do that ? i dont think so. The same goes for nes - snes -ps1 - n64. We are talking about stuff that is OUT OF PRODUCTION, there is no harm there .
Software that is available for purchase is another story thats for sure.

As mentioned above, it's not illegal if you own the games, so it is discussable. Sometimes you try hard to be an asshole

If its "ok" if you own the game...why not play the real game instead of with emulators and roms???
"if you own the game its ok" is just a saying to get around playing pirated stuff. Like when people download mp3s instead of making them from the actual cd they "own".
If "stealing" is bad, it should be bad all across the board....right???

I get your point and to be honest I don´t give a shit about copyright, but you picked a bad example because it doesn´t make sense. As I´ve said, an emulator is like a media player. Like Winamp, Itunes or Windows Media Player. There´s nothing illegal on an emulator. It would be the same as saying that using LePou´s Lecto is piracy against Mesa Boogie´s Dual Rectifier.

Sharing roms, the game files that emulators read, is another story. If you want a good example to prove your point, pick internet porn.

gtfo OR stop derailing us off topic. If it's out of production and isn't available for purchase, I don't see what the big issue is. I own a lot of these older games, but due to the consoles being made of piece of shit china-made hardware, the consoles can no longer play the games. Stop trying to be an ass and changing the topic.

My friend made me a custom Xbox that has it's built in emulators: Playstation, NES, SNES, PS1, sega's, numerous amount of old arcade versions that was on gamehalls and even more shit. It's FUCKING ASS BITCHING great gift!! It's just endless world
