Game Thread

alright seriously. when are we gonna do this hardcore awesome SC lan party... and who is down? I know bear and dave are down. daves got the hub jonners. I already have a table down stairs. its not exactly ideal for lan partys, its a dinner table. but it'll get the job done. I even have a spare Computer. I'd imagine Kris would use it since the computer in his basement is kinda fucked... or Mish if he ever decided to play. Ideally we would only need 4 people. Me, Bear, Dave and Luis/Kris/Mish. hell 6 would be even better. 3v3. The only problem is whoever is on bears team would pretty much insta win. I'd imagine I'd be the next best player... and only because no one else is practiced at all.

Anyway Im going on a rant. When the hell do you guys wanna do this? I know like every saturday theres a show. No one would probably wanna do it on Friday cause everyone is gonna wanna go out. So Im thinking sunday... but bear usually goes home on sunday. So I have no fucking idea.
 
I'm not sure whether Jeff has a show or not this weekend but Fury and Causatum don't play til the following Friday I believe so this weekend could work. Friday or Saturday is good with me. I'll bring my Dell and set it up at Jacks. Who's in?
 
Bear fucking hacks. I had like 7 expos and he had 2 and he manged to fucking win. unbelievable. I won 2/3 though. first time i ever beat'em.
 
I was thinking if the switches/hubs/whatever werent enough.. we could always turn my dell into a server. I doubt we'd have to do this, seeing as we probably would never get more than 6 people.

Anyway, The Lan Party was a success. At first I thought it was just gonna be me and bear... but it quickly turned into 4 person lan. It started off pretty fucking rocky, but we got it going. So yea thats gotta happen again.
 
By the way, we need to invest in a switch this afternoon when I get back to Audubon. I've been reading up on switches and hubs. Switches allow for MUCH better latency than a hub does. So I wouldn't mind splitting the cost of one. Best Buy of course has em so let me know.
 
Eh. Switches handle congestion better because of segmentation. I didn't even know you could still buy hubs. I've got a few hubs and switches lying around that I don't use. You can connect hubs -> hubs or switches or whatever with crossover cables.

Sucks I missed it.
 
I think we're going to be playing again at Jack's house Dave. I'll tell him to give you a call when I get into Audubon.
