Gate settings

Heya me and the forum user Terabyte are recording some drums, and we have alot of bleeding between the mikes (we have each mike on a seperate track), does anyone have some suitable attack/release settings which we can use on the various tracks to gate out the sounds of other instruments on the kit? Thanks

Keep fiddling with the mics until the bleeding is at a minimum. If you mic the kit right, you can get a good sound with no gates. It'll also make things a lot easier when you do decide to slap the gates on during mixing.

yeah, best off doing the tracking fiddling with mic placement to get the less bleed then looking at gating later

we dldnt manage to reduce the bleeding very much, we got a kinda screwed sound really
