Hey guys

ATM I'm running a 27 inch iMac i7 with 4gb of ram,

My iMac is sometimes used as a bit of a family machine,
I've been thinking of building a machine dedicated to audio,

Would you

A) keep the iMac and use that as the dedicated machine and build up a small family machine

B) use the iMac as a family machine and build up a machine for audio?

And if I was to build one does anyone have any build specs for a machine that would be good for at least 2 years?

And which would be the DAW of choice for 2011 with said machine, I'm on logic 9 ATM

Thinking of pro tools 9 or cubase 6?

Yeah, the iMac is the recording machine. Get them an Acer or something. Plus, you can keep Logic 9. And if your choice is between Pro Tools 9 or Cubase 6, switching from Logic and I assume looking for somewhat of an upgrade, I think it would be obvious that you'd choose PT9.
