General Zod was right on the money about this Primordial song...

Yes "Gods to the Godless" is as good as the band hymn par excellence. I can't imagine any Primordial gig where they wouldn't toss its heart-crushing chords and builds to the crowd.
As far as my fave Primordial song goes, I tend to cherish the "A Journey's End" monoliths a little more, like "Graven Idol", "Autumn's Ablaze", "Journey's End"... They are the sheer incarnation of this brown, earthly, fragile vibe I dig about the band.

never was one of my favourites from the album or the band, but i see what people mean about it being a good representation of what they're about.

höhöhö everybody except you heard this song 5 years ago
I'm guessing it's not that he hadn't heard it until recently. Probably he was listening to it, blown away by it's genius, and recalled a conversation him and I had. Regardless, great fuckin song.:kickass:

Correct, I believe I was introduced about two years ago or so. But Erik was right (in his typically condescending way) that I was not listening to it five years ago. Though, where I do disagree with him, is that I'm not the only one around these parts to discover the band in recent years.

Right on the money. Now I can't decide between it and "The Coffin Ships", though I'm going to emphasize some of the songs suggested in this thread as well. If there's one thing this band deserves, it's attention.

Hey yeah... look at me! I never even heard the band til early 2005 when The Gathering Wilderness came out (someone posted a link to "The Coffin Ships" or something i think) and within a year of that I owned their entire discography (minus the katatonia split and the burning season ep), had seen them live in their homeland (total fucking awesome night that was!) and they're now one of my favourite metal bands!

More like "Godz to the Godless." Come talk to me when you discover a band that will not only demolish you with their exceptional songwriting skills and punishing musicianship, but will also save your fucking soul in the process - Antestor. Rite Tully?

Antestor? Description? Yousendit? Come on, you know better than to drop an obscure band name and then run away.

I was just trolling, trying to get Erik and footbalm to lash out. :heh: But seriously, Primordial are one of the bands I just don't like no matter how much I listen to them. Same goes for Nevermore and a few others.

We all have those bands that just don't click for us, no matter how sincerely we may try to hear what everyone else appreciates.
