George Harrison

A sad, sad thing. I loved the beatles and was fond of George Harrison's leads and his songs... While my guitar gently weeps is one of my favorites songs. My two favorite beatles are already dead. Ringo probaly will be next, then Paul. Then they'll become the 20th century's Mozarts and Beethovens.

yes
there aren't too many people as gifted and extraordinary as george harrison.
one of my very favourite musicians - i was very sad to hear of his death.

I'm afraid of G. Harrison. After watching "I've Got My Mind Set on You," I nearly shit all the souls I'd eaten for lunch.

I brought my Sgt. Pepper cd to work that day.. haven't heard it in a few years.

And you may not like George Harrison, but the music he wrote was the foundation upon which current rock/metal is based. Without him, I'm willing to bet that Opeth never existed..

i've been pulling out my beatles cds and listening to them nonstop over the last couple of days...abbey road, the white album, revolver, rubber soul, sgt. peppers...they're all so, so good.

the beatles single-handedly refined rock music and george harrison was an integral part of that. all you have to do is listen to a track like "revolution" or "come together" to understand how ahead of their time the beatles were.

to be honest im totally indifferent, i mean, so many great musicians have died and dont get any publicity, then george harrison dies and simply because he was in the beatles we're all supposed to be in public mourning, i dont get it, and i dont believe he was one of the great musicians, he only wrote a handful of songs for the beatles and no one can really say he was one of the all time great guitarists, so what is there left to feel for, i think it is indeed the symbolism of it, the beatles defined a generation, but it was never MY generation

Have to say I totally agree with you.

the beatles aren't my favourite band, but they go pretty damn close to being amongst them.
i've always loved george harrison's songwriting - the honesty and beauty evident in the lyrics of a track like "something", and his gift for creating unique and wonderful soundscapes. up to a certain point, i feel that he has spoken to me and touched my heart through a number of his songs, and while he may not have been a technically brilliant guitarist, his style has been central to the beatles sound that i have treasured so much over the years.
he's also to be admired for his charity performances.
