German circumcision ban

This is the main argument in favor of circumcision and it basically boils down to buyer's denial. It's not like you can reverse the procedure and you had no choice in it. Of course people who are circumcised are going to defend it because not doing so is an implicit recognition that they've been deprived of something. Literally everything you said could be applied to female circumcision. Having no clitoris wouldn't change anything drastic in your life either.

I didn't really want to get involved in this argument because it can get very personal but think about the issue critically. How can someone miss what they've never had?

The difference is, that I was circumcised, and I was also kind of drunk and mouthy when I posted this. So there!

But, just as a point of fact, I had a foreskin for some time before they cut it off. I just don't remember it.

BTW it is kinda sad that they have to make a law for something that already falls under a more general law.
I am 100% sure German law forbids hurting people already just like in most civilized countries.

Section 223

Causing bodily harm

(1) Whosoever physically assaults or damages the health of another person, shall be liable to imprisonment of not more than five years or a fine.

(2) The attempt shall be punishable.

Section 228

Consent

Whosoever causes bodily harm with the consent of the victim shall be deemed to act lawfully unless the act violates public policy, the consent notwithstanding.

But they will have to modify section 167 a bit to exclude ceremonies that cause physical harm.

Section 167

Disturbing the exercise of religion

(1) Whosoever

intentionally and inappropriately disturbs a religious service or an act of religious worship of a church or other religious association within Germany or

commits defamatory mischief at a place dedicated to the religious worship of such a religious association

shall be liable to imprisonment of not more than three years or a fine.

(2) The ceremonies of an ideological association within Germany shall be equivalent to religious worship.

Just to clarify here:

It is already in german law, covered under the above laws. No new german law was made. The law was simply upheld in what could become a landmark case. Many senior government figures, including The Merkelatron have stepped out against the ruling, saying that it infringes on peoples freedoms.
