Getting a good Voodu Valve tone...

Hey guys, I got a Rocktron Voodu Valve a few days ago, never played it before and I'm still trying to get a good tone. So what do you think of these:

only listened to black curtains and it sounds very over gainy especially for that tune (love it!!) just back off a bit more, would be nice to hear the same settings with the less gain!

Ok, here we go - there are 3 mp3s in this archive: the one with impulses, the one I re-recorded with much less gain and a bit drier signal, and the less-gain version with impulses.
This is my first time messing with impulses, so chances are I did something wrong, but I want to hear your opinion! Thanks guys!

Btw. this was recorded using an old Jackson PS2 with JB in bridge ---> Voodu Valve ---> Audigy4 line-in ( ) ---> Sonar8

i think it sounds better with impulses but did you take off the voodu valves simulation cab? to use impulses you must have the cab sim off im not sure if you did that?

is this clip with impulses? if not turn the speaker simulation off again and use it with impulses

I can't listen to your stuff at the moment due to my wife being a sleep, but the guy to ask about getting cool sounds out of it is Vince Lupone. He uses a Rocktron Chamelon, which is an earlier version of the Voodu, and he sounds great to me. His playing rules too and he is super friendly.
