why dont they ever give me a photo pass?

You must be a representative for a either a webzine or a magazine. Doing a feature on a band and writing about them, usually. Some writers do their own shots, and others, like Steph, have been around for awhile, and several sources she deals with doing photo's. If you really want a photo pass, you need to be a writer for somewhere, and then you contact the label of the band, (do it in advance, way in advance), and ask for the photo pass. If your shots are good, and consisent you can eventually work freelance for many different magazines.

You're kinda shit out of luck if don't work or contribute to some publication.

PS., thanks Steph. You're one of the very few photographers that actually get shots of Van. WHen I go and see live shots, it's almost always just Warrel and Jeff. Or Warrel and Jim. There's other people in the band, I don't think they realize.

I know Van is hard to get shots of. He won't hold still!
