"To the Aussie fans, you never cease to amaze me, and we are in talks to bring Gigantour down there now. It may not be with any of the current line-up of other bands, but at least we are starting the preliminary footwork. This means, either this year or early next you may see this festival down there (maybe even in Perth).

"I love you all."

We can only hope.

because it'd be an Aussie version... Dream Theater might not be able to make it or whatever, so they try and get another band to fill the slot.

Sounds so awesome.

:)

I'd go anyway. But realistically, I'm not certain this would happen in Australia. Where would they put it? Can anyone see a massive open air heavy metal festival at the Showground or the Tennis Centre getting approval?

I can't see such a touring festival ever being a success in Australia. The population is too small, and the country too large. :(

I agree. Not much point if we get Megadeth + Metal for the Brain. I've seen it before. I hope they bring out some bands that never tour here.. it's a great chance... please Bruce please Bruce please Bruce

If they brought it to the southern and western states, that could still be awesome.

Say it was 'Deth, one or two other international acts, and two or three Aussie acts, it would rock very hard.

With the somewhat broad range of metal styles of Gigantour, it could perhaps work at say a Festival Hall sized venue (well for Melbourne anyway). It would take the organiser some balls to try it though.

I see Dream Theater at GMM in June. *does happy dance*

If they want a hard rock/metal festival to do big in Australia, just attach AC/DC to it. They'll have more people than they know what to do with then.
