all the stuff they do ... I honestly don't know when Negru has the time to do all... music, tour, dvd, magazine ... all elaborate stuff ...

i know plenty who cram all this and more in
its basicaly down to time management
ie: you do all this stuff and fuck all else
you live it 24 hrs a day, if youre doing menial shit, youre planning band stuff
I've given up my social life to do the band + art, but its not such a tough choice, being creaive is much more rewarding that pretending to be interested in some drunken slabber down the pub

you're right Paul ... and this is why they seem like the real deal to me ... genuinely into their stuff.

thats why they're damn good at what they do, cause they sacrifice to do it, while fagtallica doesn't have to do sacrifice much other than the gas costs for their 3rd porsche

they are ...so many are not
its pretty easy to judge that from the magazine

i know because if I didn't need the money I'd drop 80% of the stuff I do for other bands and spend all that time on scald, I have sketchbooks and pens in my car that I use every day for the 20-30 minutes I sit in the carpark waiting for our kid to get out of school, just refining concepts for scald

but I'm still cheesed off that the irish dates got fucked

the guys they use for pretty much all their design work, mag, cd's, posters, web ... are doing a pretty major project for me involving some 3D for a website ...

they have a good colaboration going with that co. as well ...

visually and conceptually thier stuff is top notch and incredibly fitting
i had an early version of one of the first records and it was horrible looking
I'm not surprised they repackaged all that stuff in superior style
I was looking at the big digifolder yesterday it just makes it a really special
object to own
I'm jealous, I've always wanted to push our packaging further than our budgets will allow

if they can afford it in Romania, I am sure you guys can as well.

all the original ncrugu 3000 copies with the leaf ... were hand folded and packaged by the band. basically they paid for printing ... I remember speaking with them prior to the release and Negru was talking how their fingers were all banged up from all the glue ... not to mention they brought back from the woods a fir tree ...that they gave a "haircut" to ... whose leaves are inside the cd's .... the trunk of very same tree was carved and photographed for the inner foldout of ncrugu.

so really it was not money spent ... some innovation.

i cannot fathom what they came up with this time around :loco:

but class A band for sure. anyone know if we'll get superawesomefantastic packaging again?

no one likes Zirnindu sa? o_O

dedication indeed, gotta admire that

don't know how much printing is in romania but its not too cheap here

as for affording things, we're pretty much empoverished
all three of us have spent long periods unemployed or in shit money and we come from skint families with misfortune + shit luck being the order of the day
not going into any details but we've put everything we can in there and more

back in 97 when we did born with teeth, the first 100 copies of the cdr cost us about £350 thats £3.50 per disc
so we had to handmake the booklet
instead of just going for a crappy insert i did a painting for the front spread which was lazercopied cut out and folded in half and we put a 12 page booklet inside it
I made the booklet pages up sissors and glue DIY style with drawings photos and text done on typewriter and cut out + some letraset
pete sneaked them into work and photocopied them we spent days cutting them all out and since the print was one sided they all had to be stuck together with wallpaper paste and dried then folded together and stapled them

when economics fuck you over you get inventive, its the only way
handmade suff is cool though + even though we lost money on every single one , it got us the deal with head not found where we learnt our first lesson in getting fucked up the arse by a label

all i am going to say is that you will cream your pants at the depth of the mix on this new one ... layers upoun layers of godliness.
all I heard was a less then a minute sample ... but oh boy!
a new level ...

bah ...
