Giving new life to my cab

Would someone recommend me to change the speakers of my AVT 4x12 Marshall cab? or just save more and buy a new cab with better speakers?

I was thinking to switch the stock speakers with vintage 30 and use the old ones, on other cab, maybe buy empty cabs.

The avt is not a large cab, is smaller than the 1960 cab, so i want to know if is a good idea to put v30 on that cab, and if it gonna sound good.

any other idea??

Save up and get a better cab - the AVT uses pretty shitty wood, and like you said, is small in size.


It'll sound better than it does, but IMO, it's a waste of 240 that could go to another cabinet.

i really want a cab with v30, i´ve played an orange with v30 and it sound awesome.
the avt has celestions but the cheap ones i guess , sound good, but not superb, I sold an avatar 2x12 with G12t75 today, that little bastard sounds better than the marshall. that was 4 hours ago and i already miss that cab, but i want to upgrade
