I have recorded some drums with a band a few days ago. I'm just preparing a little premix for the guitarists that come next week to record their parts. I like how the drums sound already, pretty roomy
I put 6 ambiance mics this time, and they're all in the clip you hear. A couple of NT1s at about 4 meters in front of the kit I placed them as wider as possible. Next three mics as 'midside ambiance' two JM37DP pointing left and right and one Panthera in the middle. Then one MK012 just above the drummer pointing at the snare. The room is small and pretty crappy so I tried to get as much air as possible.
The guitars are just the scratch tracks the band send me before... What d'ya think?
