*list includes every album that a) finished in the top 3 in one of grumbles' polls (edit: just remembered CiG did a couple too, added those in), b) got 5 or more votes and c) has more than 5 tracks. feel free to suggest something that doesn't fit into these parameters (i.e. i think the two major king crimson albums got more votes than basically anything else, but they only have 5 songs each), twas just an arbitrary way of narrowing it down.

Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju
Tom Waits - Bone Machine
Misfits - Earth A.D. / Wolf's Blood

c) has more than 5 tracks.

A few of the albums in your list do not meet this criteria. WYWH, Mirage, Close to the Edge, off the top of my head.

anyway I'll vote for all of these:

blue oyster cult - secret treaties
captain beyond - s/t
cocteau twins - treasure
leonard cohen - songs of love and hate
the doors - s/t
the doors - strange days
king crimson - discipline
led zeppelin - houses of the holy

nirvana - in utero
queens of the stone age - songs for the deaf

wishbone ash - argus

From what you listed:
cocteau twins - treasure
dead can dance - aion
gza - liquid swords
the jimi hendrix experience - are you experienced?
king crimson - any of them
led zeppelin - Any of them
pink floyd - any of them
rush - any of them
siouxsie and the banshees - juju
the smashing pumpkins - mellon collie and the infinite sadness
swans - filth
wu tang clan - enter the wu tang (36 chambers)

I don’t agree with the “more than 5 tracks” rule, as if an album has that few tacks and still made the list, all or most of the songs probably have their followers. I think we did King Crimson’s Red and that would make a great song survivor.

i did specifically say it's not a rule, if people wanna do the king crimson albums or w/e that's cool with me. i just wanted to avoid listing like 100 albums, and wanted to rule out stuff like the 2 or 3 track jazz records

i'll nominate 15 for now:
bjork - post
blue oyster cult - secret treaties
leonard cohen - songs of love and hate
comus - first utterance
dead can dance - aion
the doors - s/t
