They haven't played live since 1999 I think? A good 7 years almost!

Plus they said they just want to play a couple shows in the USA and a few festivals then be done with it. They said in interviews they could tour the USA twice over without a problem since they're so big now and they'd make a bunch of money, but they don't have the desire to do that.

I paid $50 for my ticket and am thinking about going to the 2nd show they scheduled, just for the hell of it but probably won't since there's about 4 other shows I want to go to before that.

Your porogative mate, i don't like a lot of black metal but Emperor leans more toward Symphonic BM, at least from "In the Nightside Eclipse" onward. But i still feel i'd pay $60 to go and see them, like i say it's steep and the equivelent £35 over here in Britain is most i'd usually pay to see a band, but i'd pay it.
