Does anybody totally admire the drum sounds achieved on Gojira's new album the way of all flesh?? Anybody have or know anything about how that was all produced?

Their drum sound is really good and polished on this album but I don't think it suits them imo. Maybe if they added a bit more room mics to the mix it would have been better, like "From Mars to Sirius" 's drums sound.
If you listen to "From Mars to Sirius" through headphones you can hear dubs and drop-ins in a few places where the reverb tail gets cut dead (though it's actually the guitars more than drums, oddly enough).

I love the rawness of their guitar tracks more than anything. Drum sound is AWESOME, but their guitar tone is just so unique.
I think one of the things about their drum sound is that often the kit doesnt sound as you would expect a metal band's drum kit to sound.. For example, the kick from FMTS sounds quite round and whole, rather than a processed meaty sound with slap. Obviously they dont sound like your average rock band, but arent processed as extreme as a lot of similar bands...
