good bands that tune to c# (standard or dropped)

i know this is weird, but what are some good ones?

I believe a lot of heavy bands are in this tuning. Off-hand I seem to remember Nile and My Dying Bride (at least some of the time) being in C#. You'd probably find it a bit in brutal death and death/doom.

Check a tabs site for some sure answers.

vader does on a lot of their more recent stuff i'm pretty sure as does suffocation on a few songs. behemoth also does i think on demigod and so do a lot of melodeath bands, dark tranquillity on a few albums i think.

If you consider them good, Behemoth do. I think some Enslaved might be too.

doesn't really matter...but I think Amon Amarth do this. In Flames also do so on at least some of the new stuff. A lot of brutal death and nu metal does this.
out of curiosity, why do you ask?

im asking this since c# is what i tune to most of the time, and i want to learn more songs in this tuning since everything i know is either too easy for me or too difficult

you can play anything in C#, it'll just be way heavier.

I know this is an old thread, but if you want to learn new songs in C#, tune to whatever the band is tuned to, learn the songs, then tune back down and play them the same way!

There's tons more. I don't know what every single band tunes to, but a lot use C#. It's good middle ground between C (which tbh is heavy enough) and B (Which is a little absurd).

Still....there have been times when I've been playing in D and said to myself "Why couldn't this be just a little heavier?"

I think Venom played in C#, at least on the first 2. Wouldn't swear to it, though.

Word. Your best hint is that there is no C flat
